Neighborhood Information
The Wachusett area of Massachusetts is beautiful and attracts visitors from all over New England.
Worcester, MA is one of the local hubs teeming with potential and investor interest. Worcester, MA has sprouted some great dining establishments over the past few years and there's a wide variety of international and fusion offerings. You'll find a majority on Shrewsbury Street including Via Italian Table and the 111 Chop House, both owned by the Worcester Restaurant Group which also owns the Sole Proprietor - my favorite seafood restaurant in the Worcester area. The Sole is on Highland Street which is also home to the Boynton Pub and Wooberry frozen yogurts. There are a few more great restaurants on Park Ave and the Canal district is good for bar hopping or motorcycle night, and there are plenty other gems located throughout Worcester and surrounding towns.
Worcester's finest dining establishments are still not as fine as the offerings in Boston, but Boston is only a 45 minute drive without traffic. Friday rush hours tend to be congested because everyone is on their way to town for their 6 pm reservations, but if you wait an hour or so and go into Boston at 7 pm traffic has usually cleared up.
Worcester is also home to the DCU Center which hosts our own hockey team, formerly the Sharks but recently the Railers, concerts by big named bands and performers as well as many a trade conference, home and bridal show.
Nearby is also Wachusett Mountain, which is our own ski mountain with chair lifts. Wachusett Mountain has an Apple Festival and BBQ cook offs and other fun festivals in the off season. There's also hiking trails and beautiful views. Skiing gets pretty busy on the weekends, but it's close enough for weekday nights to burn off some steam if you're into skiing or snowboarding.
Nashoba Valley Winery in Bolton is another gem that draws Bostonians our way. You can buy a bottle of their wine or go apple picking and enjoy the wine with your packed from home picnic or you can order their picnic lunches online ahead of your visit.
Other regional attractions are close enough for a weekend getaway like Cape Cod (1.5 hours), Newport, RI (about 1.5 hours), and Providence (45 mins).
In the pages below you'll find more information about each town and it's local businesses and amenities. Am I missing anything? Let me know here!
